The photograph shows the first phase of the lodge, circa 1896-1900s in Sedalia, Missouri. The large tank sitting against the building was a water storage tank that was fed by the gutter pipes. The kitchen and bathroom of this phase was located on the floor below the tank, and was situated to take advantage of gravity to provide the water pressure.
