This is a 1937 photograph of the tallest person in recorded history, Robert Wadlow, who was 8ft, 11 in. tall and weighed 439 lbs. In this photo, he is chatting with a friend after appearing at a charity event in Omaha, Nebraska. During the 1930s, he made at least one trip to the Sweet Springs International Shoe Company location to pick up a custom-made pair of shoes.
