The Lexington Missouri Historical Association and Museum is currently housed in the former Cumberland Presbyterian Church that was built in 1846. The Historical Association and Museum tells the history of Lexington, Missouri so it can be shared and passed down to future generations.

The Historical Association sponsors a number of historical events throughout the year including exhibitions that showcase historical clothing and the importance of women's education in Lexington, as well as an annual event at the historic Machpelah Cemetery.

The Historical Association and its members are involved in the community and play an important role in preserving the city's rich history. The Museum and Historical Association is a good place to stop before touring Lexington because the museum offers an overview of the important historical events and landmarks in the city.
