Brief history of Leeton Missouri

Leeton serves as the Rock Island Spur trailhead of the Katy Trail.

Leeton was named after J. J. Lee, the original owner of the town site and Leeton was formally established in 1895. Prior to the formal founding of the town, a post office had been established in 1882. Today the community has a little over 500 residents and serves as the Rock Island Spur trailhead of the Katy Trail.
